IOOC to add 9,600 bpd to Iran’s oil output in Persian Gulf

TEHRAN - Head of the Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) has said that the installation and implementation of platforms A20 and A21 in Abuzar field by late December will increase the company's daily oil output from the fields in the Persian Gulf by 9,600 barrels.

Referring to the 85 percent progress of the construction of the mentioned platforms, Alireza Mehdizadeh said: “99 percent of the required items and equipment related to this project have been provided and some of these items are waiting for customs clearance and the implementation activities of this project are continuing at a good pace.”

According to the official, each of the A20 and A21 platforms weigh more than 1,100 tons and are completely built using the capabilities of domestic contractor companies.

Mehdizadeh further stated that the drilling of four wells related to the A21 platform was done in the previous Iranian calendar year (ended on March 19), and the drilling of four wells of the A20 platform will be completed by next month.

Stating that the jackets of the mentioned platforms have been pre-made and installed in the desired location, Mehdizadeh clarified: “the pre-commissioning and commissioning activities of this project will begin soon, and with the selection of the installation contractor for the platforms, the process of transportation, installation and commissioning will begin which is anticipated to take a month to complete.”
